Edinburgh
Located in the south-east of Scotland, Edinburgh lies on the east coast of the Central Belt, along the Firth of Forth, near the North Sea. Owing to its spectacular, rugged setting and vast collection of Medieval and Georgian architecture, including numerous stone tenements, it is often considered one of the most picturesque cities in Europe.

East Midlands
The East Midlands is one of the regions of England and consists of most of the eastern half of the traditional region of the Midlands. It encompasses the combined area of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and most of Lincolnshire. A looser definition of the East Midlands would include the City of Peterborough (once part of Northamptonshire but now Cambridgeshire), Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire and north Lincolnshire

Welcome to the official page of Leg II of Northern Skies, Fly UK's latest VATSIM events tour. The culmination of months of planning, Northern Skies seeks to set a lasting image of the beautiful vistas of Northern Europe - whether it be in your memory, or in your shiny new award.

Three awards are available for this tour:

Northern Gold - 9 flights
Northern Silver - 6 flights
Northern Bronze - 3 flights

Leg II will see us fly from our Edinburgh base to East Midlands, a destination new to Fly UK's VATSIM events. East Midlands has long contested Birmingham for the title of the largest airport in the Midlands region (with old Brum usually winning it out in the end); will this evening be the time that it all changes...

Be Prepared - Important Event Information

To make sure everyone who takes part has an enjoyable event, please read through the points below.

Please make sure you have charts, you can download them using the links provided below.

Please use the SQUAWK BOX/FSINN downloadable flight plan (available on this page after you have confirmed your attendance) when submitting your VATSIM flight plan.

As this is an event you should use your pilot ID as your callsign.

We will meet on the Fly UK Teamspeak VATSIM Room from approx 16:30z for a pre-flight chat. All members are invited to join us on Teamspeak before and after the event to chat and share their experiences of the flight. Of course, please do stay on Teamspeak for the duration of the flight, but be courteous to those who may be receiving ATC clearances.

We would suggest that you connect to VATSIM approximately 15 minutes before the event is due to begin.

After the flight, pilots must file a website pirep for the flight from your Booked Flights page.

Pireps must not be logged via FSPassengers for event flights otherwise they will be deleted.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask any member of the staff team! It is far better to get any problems or questions sorted out and answered before the event takes place.
