Istanbul historically also known as Byzantium and Constantinople; is the largest city in Turkey and fifth largest city proper in the world with a population of 12.6 million. Istanbul is also a mega city, as well as the cultural and financial centre of Turkey. The city covers 39 districts of the Istanbul province. It is located on the Bosphorus Strait and encompasses the natural harbour known as the Golden Horn, in the northwest of the country. It extends both on the European (Thrace) and on the Asian (Anatolia) sides of the Bosphorus, and is thereby the only metropolis in the world that is situated on two continents.

Athens,the capital and largest city of Greece, dominates the Attica periphery; as one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years. Classical Athens was a powerful city-state. A centre for the arts, learning and philosophy, home of Plato's Academy and Aristotle's Lyceum, It is widely referred to as the cradle of Western civilization and the birthplace of democracy, largely due to the impact of its cultural and political achievements during the 5th and 4th centuries BC on the rest of the then known European continent.

• As this is an event you should use your pilot ID as your callsign.


• We will meet on the Fly UK Teamspeak from approx 06.30z for a pre-flight chat. All members are invited to join us on Teamspeak before and after the event to chat and share their experiences of the flight.


• We would suggest that you connect to the IVAO approximately 15 minutes before the event is due to begin.


• After the flight, pilots must file a website pirep for the flight from your Booked Flights page.


• Pireps must not be logged via FSPassengers for event flights otherwise they will be deleted.
