Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
Great time and effort is taken by our dedicated team when creating
FLY2 schedules. We've taken the time to
research the real life low cost model set out by real airlines, pioneers
of the low cost revolution such as Southwest Airlines in America & Ryanair in Europe. If you're interested, you can find out more about the
history of low cost airlines
here. Its a brief article published by one of the low cost sectors'
newer carriers, Jet2.com.

When And Where You Need Us. Ad-Hoc Flights give pilots the unique opportunity to fly off-schedule flights, which are not scheduled within the Fly UK Operations. When Fly UK offer ad-hoc flights, the aircraft required are available at short notice and we pride ourseleves in offering a high quality Ad-Hoc solution to our customer or partner. Ad-Hoc flights range from special VIP passenger flights, to delivery flights and only arise at certain points in time.
vRAF Ad-Hoc Contract
Fly UK have signed a
contract with Virtual Royal Air Force, which involves Fly UK supporting
vRAF operations by transporting various equipment, supplies and troops
around the world. Such partnerships are important at Fly UK as we strive
to offer more interesting assignments for pilots who wish to try
something different alongside their usual flying.
All of the vRAF flights are operated by our special Boeing 767-300 which
has been modified to carry a maximum of 196 passengers and the remaining
payload all cargo. The aircraft is based at EGVN - Brize Norton.
Weekly Falklands
Supply Air Bridge - G-FLDM - B767-300
This route was previously operated by an aircraft based at
Gatwick thus there was a Gatwick > Brize Norton leg (and vica versa) at each
end. We have now decided to base the aircraft at Brize Norton itself due to
an increase in service frequency. This route is use to provide a heavy-goods
supply chain for the British Forces base on the Falkland islands.
Weekly Cyprus
Transport Air Bridge - 5th March 2010 > 6th March 2011 - G-FLDM - B767-300
This flight operating to Akrotiri is primarily a troop
supply flight for the RAF base in Cyprus. This base is a training location
for many RAF related activates as well as a number of British Forces
exercises. The stop at Hannover on the return is for "Theatre
Desensitization" whereby troops spend 2 - 3 days in Hannover to blow off
steam before returning to normal life with their families. vRAF will support
this route by operating the return from Hannover on other separate days too.
Weekly Operation
Herrick Support - 5th March 2010 > 6th March 2011 - G-FLDM - B767-300
The purpose of this flight is to aid with the constant
replenishment of troops for combat operations in the Middle East. Troops
from all of the British Forces will fly to Kuwait for training and tours of
duty. This operation aims to help the supply chain keep active and regular,
greatly helping with the logistical organisation of the whole operation.
Again, the stop at Hannover on the return is for "Theatre Desensitization"
whereby troops spend 2 - 3 days in Hannover to blow off steam before
returning to normal life with their families. vRAF will support this route
by operating the return from Hannover on other separate days too.
Monthly Belize
Support Operation - 14th March > Until Further Notice - G-FLDM - B767-300
This flight is operated once per
month, again,
flown in order to help the supply chain for the British forces base in
Belize. The base here is primarily used for jungle training based around the
British Ghurkha Regiments. NOTAMs are issued by operations each month to
advise when flights will be operated. Pilots who fly the full sector will be
awarded the Belize Support Operation award.
